       A sci-fi thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. The plot centers on a massive global conspiracy involving government cover-ups of extraterrestrial life.       J.B. Books (John Wayne, in his final film role) is an aging gunfighter diagnosed with cancer who comes to Nevada at the turn of the 20th century. Renting a room from widowed Bond Rogers (Lauren Bacall) and her son Gillom (Ron Howard), Books is confronted by several people of questionable motives, including a man seeking to avenge his brother's death and a few who are looking to profit from Books' notoriety. Not wanting to die a quiet, painful death, Books devises a plan to go out with a bang.

        When the tiny nation of Freedonia goes bankrupt, its wealthy benefactor, Mrs. Teasdale (Margaret Dumont), insists that the wacky Rufus T. Firefly (Groucho Marx) become the country's president. Sensing a weakness in leadership, the bordering nation of Sylvania sends in the spies Pinky (Harpo Marx) and Chicolini (Chico Marx) to set the stage for a revolution. As Firefly clashes with the Sylvanian ambassador (Louis Calhern), plenty of mayhem ensues, and the countries verge on all-out war.

        At an Army barracks in Hawaii in the days preceding the attack on Pearl Harbor, lone-wolf soldier and boxing champion Prew Prewitt (Montgomery Clift) refuses to box, preferring to play the bugle instead. Hard-hearted Capt. Holmes (Philip Ober) subjects Prew to a grueling series of punishments while, unknown to Holmes, the gruff but fair Sgt. Warden (Burt Lancaster) engages in a clandestine affair with the captain's mistreated wife (Deborah Kerr).

    The epic conclusion to the Vacation Trilogy written and directed by George Jones


    First we gave you Ma's Vacation, in which hillbilly ma went away and left hillbilly Pa to his own devices and things went a little nuts when a young thief came snooping around Pa's moonshine still!


    Then, because you asked for more, we gave you Pa's Vacation, in which Pa went away for a while and Ma redecorated thier entire house and put in indoor plumbing with the help of her wealthy sister Janet. And when Pa returns he discovers Ma is pregnant!


    And now, because more folks asked for it (this is the last, we promise! LOL) we bring you Ma and Pa's Vacation in which both of them go away for a while, leaving dear sister Janet in charge.  What could go wrong?  What could go right?  You won't believe it until you see it!  Laugh out loud and groan a little too at the country bumpkin humor and the backwoods style of it all!

     Find out what goes bump in the night, and whole bunch of history, in Mineola, TX! Every Saturday night at 8:30PM we meet in front of  The Annex - 119 N. Johnson) and begin a two hour (sometimes longer) walking journey through the haunted streets and buildings of this historic town! Travel with a professional paranormal investigator! Use the equipment as seen on TV! Go inside some places and participate in experiments designed to communicate with the departed! It's a tour and a hunt combined and it's a heck of a fun way to spend a Saturday night! Tickets are $15 per person. Please, no children under 10yrs because it can get quite spooky. No inebriated customers please. We keep it family friendly! 


    This event is being produced by our friends at Tours of Tyler. This is not an event of the Lake Country Playhouse, and all questions should be referred to Tours of Tyler directly.

     Here's the advanced theater class for all kids (13 - 18yrs) with an interest in theater to learn and have fun (and put on a public performance)!

    Classes will begin June 22nd at 2PM, and will be weekdays (M-F) from 2PM to 4PM through July 3rd. The camp will end with a public performance on Friday July 3 at 7PM! It's learning made fun where the kids get to actually experience stage craft, design, lighting, sound, and put it all together to present a show for you! Over 20hours for just $60 with fully vetted teacher, Tiffany Whitten!
